Project 1968 MGB Roadster (April'17-March'18)
"Dan completed the restoration of my MGB to a standard that I aspired to. The attention to detail and recording of progress was excellent.
Even better, as I had budgetary constraints Dan worked with me communicating in advance so we could plan the work and avoid surprises. Although the real surprise was the day I collected the car and the feeling that it had been so well looked after in such a professional manner"

Mini Cooper S Mk 3 Recommission (Feb'19)
“Dan did a great job getting my 1971 Mini Cooper back on the road. His marque expertise meant that he was quickly able to identify and fix the issues requiring attention. I really appreciated his professionalism and communication skills: he sent me regular updates and photos, was happy to take the time to explain to me what was required in detail and provided me with a very detailed account of the work done (and possible future issues to watch out for). Overall, highly recommended.”

Austin Healey 3000 BJ8. (September'20-October'20)
"Experience and expertise is what you expect a classic car specialist to have, and Dan has plenty of both. As one fairly new to Austin Healey 3000 ownership, I learnt a lot while my car was being sorted out, being shown the various ‘bodges’ that had been carried out in the past and realizing that, for Dan, there was only one solution: to do the job properly. The whole process was made so much easier by excellent communication and liaison before any decision-making, and supported by a helpful list of jobs that were accomplished, alongside another one of advisories and a visual record of detailed photographs."

Austin Healey 100/6 Gearbox Rebuild (March '21)
"Dan has recently done two jobs on my Healey, one electrical and one mechanical. I have been totally satisfied with his workmanship and the overall service I have received. I have no hesitation recommending him, just as long as he does not get too busy! "

Austin Healey 100/6 Engine/Gearbox/Suspension Rebuild (January '22- September '22)
“Thanks for transforming my Austin Healey from something quite ordinary into an exceptional, safe and proper sports car which for the first time in 22 years is a joy to drive.
Your engineering skill, attention to detail and problem solving skills -all delivered without the presence of bovine excrement - deserves to be applauded which is something I am more than happy to do.
Thanks again”

Austin Healey 100/6 Recommissioning (December '22- May'23)
"Delighted with the work you and your team carried out on my 100/6.
I have no hesitation in recommending you for Austin Healey work to fellow owners.
My experience puts you, I think, right up there with the top restorers, and it’s nice to have the relationship 1~1 with the guy doing the job.
My instinct (being happy to leave you guys to it) was well founded and it enabled me to relax whilst off on a long tour abroad.
Regular reports and updates.
Anyone visiting Dan Howell Classics’ workshop will be impressed by the clean and organised way they carry out the standard of work provided.
Couldn’t recommend Dan Howell Classics more highly."

"Just wanted to thank you for the huge difference you’ve made to what I thought was my well-sorted E Type.
Just to avoid any misunderstanding, it is MY car and not yours, despite the fact you’ve treated it as yours whilst in your care.
The reason I brought it to you in the first place was to check one or two things I’d noticed as not being quite right, and for an appraisal of the car as a whole.
You’d been recommended to me as a meticulous expert in the field of 50’s and 60’s classics, by another expert whom I rated.
Well, I thought I was meticulous, but as it turns out, you need help 😉 (but not yet as I have a couple of mates who also have ‘well-sorted’ E Types).
You brought two important qualities to my ‘project’ that I don’t have in any great measure – your e’s (experience & expertise) and your communication. The former demonstrated craft and engineering cunning. The latter was regular, always before the event, with options and then sound advice.
The end result has been, as I’ve said, a general huge improvement to the running and handling of my car, and to its longevity (e.g. the mystery brake fluid leak I was totally unaware of).
I’ll be back.
Thankyou"

"Compliments to you"
"Just to say, every time I open the Healey Bonnet in company your detailing attracts such positive comments.
Nice to know your work is appreciated by me & everyone who see’s the car, (including some marque specialists who know the cars well.)
You are a very talented fellow with a feel for old cars that really shows in your work.
Thanks"

Austin Healey 3000 BJ8 Recommission (May '25)
"Dan has been brilliant in getting this car back on the road. It had languished in a garage for several years in West Wales and had developed a number of faults. Dan did a thorough assessment of the car and gave me a detailed report of what needed to be done. He gave me several options, each costed, so that I could make well informed decisions about how to proceed. He is a great communicator and was in regular touch throughout the project, making sure I was fully informed and happy at every stage. He certainly knows his stuff and the quality of work is outstanding. He also has a deep knowledge of the classic car market and gives excellent advice on the most cost-effective solutions. The car is now back on the road and has never driven better. I’m looking forward to a summer of happy motoring. I found Dan through the Austin Healey club and can’t recommend him too highly. He is open, honest tells you the cost of work in advance and is great value for money. He will definitely be looking after the Healey in the future."
